Utilizing Ancestry’s Databases: Beyond ‘Search’

Ancestry began as a publishing company in 1990. Since then, it has grown into the online giant we know today. Ancestry is one of the largest online genealogical resources. It is a corporate entity, NOT owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and offers both paid and for-free services to users around the world. The techniques regarding card catalogs shared in this lecture apply to all online repositories with databases. Most (if not all) online collections have a “card catalog” or “collections” feature allowing you to see the specific databases they hold.
