PERSIbilities: Better Research with ACPL’s Periodical Source Index

With over 2.7 million entries from 8,000 titles, PERSI is a critical tool for fulfilling the “reasonably exhaustive research” requirement of the Genealogical Proof Standard. The session provides a methodical tour of the new Allen County Public Library (ACPL) interface, demonstrating how to conduct efficient subject, surname, and locality searches. Participants will discover practical strategies for accessing the physical articles—including utilizing the ACPL Genealogy Center’s order forms, interlibrary loan (ILL) systems, and digital repositories like—ensuring they can leverage the specialized knowledge found in over a century of global genealogical journalism.
