What I Don’t Know About Southern Illinois: Scroggins and Dimick Families of Hardin County

This case study will show the audience what can be learned quickly from home when beginning a new project to fill in the knowledge gaps. The study uses an example that started from a family history that contained no source citations or documentation for it’s data. Using those clues and information found readily available on the Internet, Cari shows the audience how to begin a new project in an unknown area. Topics include: geographic research, maps and property, census records, Illinois State Archives, Google Books, military records, and more.
