Your Texas Ancestors are Waiting: Four Austin Repositories You Must Visit

TSLAC
Texas State Library and Archives

This lecture will give a tour through four repositories located in Austin that are vital for researching ancestors in the state capital: the Texas State Library and Archives (TSLAC), the Austin History Center, the Travis County Archives, and the Dolph Briscoe Center. This lecture is designed to be a tour of these repositories for all researchers but will give valuable information for those outside the Austin area, demonstrating the types of documents available in each, how to access and use their online catalogs, and how to obtain copies from a distance. A quick look at logistics for visiting each in person will also be addressed (parking, fees, repository rules, and so on).
