I’m so excited to finally get to teach a course on my favorite state, Ohio. As an Ohio native, with ancestors from there for many generations, it is a favorite research subject of mine. Even though I’ve been researching in Ohio since 2000, I don’t know everything there is to know, so I’ve brought on some other experts in Ohio to teach along side me: Kelli Bergheimer and Shelley Bishop, with a special guest appearance by Judy Russell.

The course will be held at virtually at IGHR (Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research) July 26 through July 30, 2027.

You can read the full course description and see the lecture schedule here.

We are very excited for this course. I know the other instructors and I are very passionate about the state and sharing our knowledge and research strategies.

Registration begins November 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern. We hope you’ll join us!
